DrySuit Certification
Unlike wetsuits, drysuits are designed to keep you completely dry by using a layer of air as insulation. This allows you to dive comfortably in colder water temperatures and expand your diving opportunities year-round.
During this course, you’ll learn how to control the air inside your drysuit while maintaining proper buoyancy—giving you the confidence to dive comfortably and safely in a variety of conditions.
Academics:
Complete your PADI eLearning at your own pace (2–4 hours) before meeting your instructor
Learn about different types of drysuits, undergarments, and basic maintenance
With Your Instructor:
2–3 day course
One confined water (pool) session to practice skills
Two open water dives to apply techniques in real conditions
What You'll Learn:
How to control the air in your drysuit and manage buoyancy
How to avoid common drysuit diving problems
Proper weighting and trim while diving in a drysuit
How to choose the right drysuit and undergarments
How to safely put on and remove your drysuit
Basic care, maintenance, and repair of drysuits
Requirements:
Minimum age requirement: 10 years old
Certified as a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or equivalent
Good physical health (medical clearance may be required depending on history)
Transportation:
Each student is responsible for their own transportation to and from training locations
(Pick-ups available for an extra $20 per person)
